Reviews
I enjoy coming to the Dam Cafe. It is a great atmosphere to get a nice breakfast and get some work done on my laptop. It is busy but never overcrowded. The breakfast options don’t always look appealing but they do taste great! I have unfortunately not tried the bakery options, but those who have ensure they are worth it! It is not too pricey and you feel like you get what you pay for.
Definitely a gem in holyoke! iced coffee’s are superb! The food is served in pretty big servings so if you are a light eater (like me) might want to stick with bagel or croissant sandwiches. Pretty big inside and it also has outdoor seating.
Staff is very nice and knowledgeable. Definitely will be back again!
The food was good, the service was great, the restaurant was comfortable. The Reuben was better than others that I've had and I'd get it again. The fries, though fairly tasty, were limp. I think it would have been better to fry them a little, remove them from the oil, let them sit for a short time, and then finish frying them. They would be crispier that way which may enhance the eating experience. The caramel frozen drink was disappointingly mediocre--the taste was weak as if it was mildly flavored blended ice; other flavors might be more flavorful. All-in-all, I'd go back and try other menu options.
They had a wide array of oversized desserts that were very appealing to the eye. I should have taken a picture--I've never seen a muffin or a cookie that big. The pan of very large cuts of brownies was almost too tempting, but I needed to pass on dessert.
Every staff member that I encountered was great. Zero complaints about the employees. When we placed our order, we were given a brontosaurus to place on the table instead of a numbered marker. I thought that was really cool and appreciated the uniqueness--bravo! The are also four tables outside under a well-shaded canopy along the front of the restaurant. On a pleasant day outside (like I had during my visit) it was very enjoyable. The inside of the restaurant had a spacious dining area that was clutter-free and easy to navigate.
I went to the Dam Cafe for breakfast on a brisk fall morning. A good friend had suggested I try their coffee. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, an order of hash and a latte. I was no very pleased with the food. The hash seemed like it came from a can. The sandwich didn't seem grilled, the meat seemed microwaved. But the coffee was delicious. I will give it another try soon.
Large portions but maybe it was an off day my eggs burnt my potatoes weren't cooked all the way Imy meal came with toast who eats the ends of the bread normally you trow that part a way because rhoes pieces are smaller than the others and then throw a big gob of butter on my toast, I get 2 plate size pan cakes and you get 1/3of a cup of syrup. Also I see sometimes they would deliver food to tables and some times they would call you up to pick up your own food. No one was wiping off tables after patrons would sit down. And leave
We stopped by during the road trip because of good reviews. It felt somewhat sticky there. Late came in an unappetizing styrofoam cup. There didn't seem to be any other stores or places to walk to right there.
Best dam food around. Service was great! Prices good! Outside seating is a plus and indoor seating is adorable. Ordered for pick up and it was ready in under 20 mins got some baked sandwiches and a couple cupcakes and both were incredibly delicious. Trust me I eat a lot of sandwiches and a lot of cupcakes and these might just be the best in the valley. These are the best cupcakes and pesto sandwich I ever ate. not even joking. Go buy their cupcakes and sandwiches. My whole family was happy! Worth it! Will be back again and again.
Sooooo many delicious coffees to choose from and tons of yummy food breakfast and lunch! So flavorful and good portions. Not to mention you can't beat the price!!! If you're driving by or in the area it's a MUST try
